Our story In 2004, a vision was born within the hearts of a few dedicated parents who recognized a growing need for an alternative educational experience that embraced the values of home schooling. They wanted to create an environment where their children could thrive academically and spiritually without the pressures often found in traditional school settings. Thus, Hewlett Academy was established as a form of home schooling, allowing parents to work alongside their children, nurturing their intellectual curiosity while instilling strong moral foundations. As Hewlett Academy grew, it became evident that there was also a pressing need for supportive services to assist working parents in balancing their demanding schedules with their children's needs. Understanding this challenge, the founders expanded their mission and opened The Safe Haven, a low-cost before and after care program designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children outside of regular school hours. The Safe Haven was created with the aim of ensuring that no child had to be alone at home while their parents were at work.
